Berkeys Expands Southlake Carroll Support As Video Scoreboard Sponsor
When Southlake Carroll football fans fill the newly-expanded Dragon Stadium this fall Carroll ISD student athletes, musicians, dancers, cheerleaders and fans will be showcased in a manner befitting the district’s high achievements, thanks to a new video scoreboard paid for by corporate sponsorships.
Leading businesses in Northeast Tarrant County, including Berkeys Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., have signed multi-year commitments to make the long-awaited video-replay scoreboard a reality. Berkeys and Park Place Motors are the two Anchor Sponsors, the highest level of corporate sponsorship.
Berkeys president Jamie Wooldridge said the big screen will make each game an entirely different experience. “The video replays will enable people to see big plays again, but coverage of the band, drill team, cheerleaders and people in the stands will bring everyone at Dragon Stadium into the action – it’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said.
At approximately 65 feet tall by 44 feet wide, and with a video screen measuring about 20 feet tall by 36 feet wide, Southlake Carroll will have one of the largest high school scoreboards in the United States, according to Michael Vogelaar, of Daktronics Sports Marketing, the company manufacturing and installing the scoreboard, along with an upgraded sound system. Daktronics is partnering with Carroll ISD to market the corporate sponsorships.
“Berkeys is a key partner in this project,” Vogelaar said. “We needed everyone’s participation for the project to be a success, but to have Berkeys join as an Anchor partner was critical for this project to move forward. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Berkeys, one of the flagship businesses in the area.”
As part of the Anchor-level sponsorship package, Berkeys will have its logo displayed near the top of the Southlake Carroll scoreboard, above the video screen, and at other locations in Dragon Stadium. The four Founding Sponsors – Mike Davis State Farm Insurance, Roxann Taylor & Associates Realtors, Baylor Regional Medical Center – Grapevine and Cook Children’s Healthcare System – will have space below the scorekeeping area.
Other sponsors include Southlake Dermatology, SMI Roofing, TLC Electrical, David Waldrep Texas Farm Bureau, Stacy’s Furniture, Clearview Eyecare and Laser Center, Velocity Sports, Tommy Pennington Realty Group, Green Light Driving Academy and First Financial Bank.
Daktronics is one of the world’s largest suppliers of electronic scoreboards, computer-programmable displays, and large screen video displays and control systems. The company designs, manufactures, markets and services display systems for customers around the world, in sport, business and transportation applications. Its video scoreboards inform and entertain fans at high school, collegiate and professional sports venues worldwide.
